We are growing quickly. Our mission is to scale models that prioritise efficient supply chain management and sustainable sourcing, so we can continue lowering the cost of school lunches. We have delivered over 100,000,000 meals since 2012 and are expanding to reach our goal of serving at least 1,000,000 public primary school students in Kenya every day by 2027.

About the Role


You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities at Food for Education warehouse. You will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end inventory processes including receiving, sorting, storage, dispatch, and accurate record-keeping. The ideal candidate will ensure quality control, maintain stock accuracy, and support efficient production planning and logistics. Additionally, the role includes supervising, sorting and loading staff to uphold high operational and product standards..


Key Duties & Responsibilities


Production Planning and Supervision

  • Oversee all sorting processes from machine sorting to hand sorting.
  • Oversee weighing of unsorted, machine-sorted, and hand-sorted stock and waste collection.
  • Maintain accurate records of sorting processes and proper documentation or stock movement
  • Verification of machine-sorted grains regularly to ensure stock dispatched is of good quality.
  • Prepare production schedules for the sorting staff.
  • Maintain a safe, well-organized, and clean work environment.


Inventory Management

  • Regular spot checks to ensure that there is enough sorted stock ready for delivery.
  • Continuously practice batch tracking systems while maintaining well-updated inventory movement stock cards.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, stock management, and security.
  • Conduct monthly stocktake and weekly stock counts.
  • Warehouse planning/arrangement/stacking


Inventory/Stock Receiving 

  • Receive incoming deliveries and meticulously verify quantities and quality/condition of goods against invoices and delivery notes.
  • Oversee the organization and storage of inventory effectively.
  • Continuously practice batch tracking systems while maintaining well-updated inventory movement stock cards.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or damages promptly.
  • Proper documentation of bin cards and delivery notes.


Dispatches 

  • Receive kitchen orders and schedule deliveries
  • Identify, load, and dispatch kitchen orders as per schedule and request
  • Liaison with the kitchen Managers to ensure what was ordered is what was delivered on time
  • Resolve any discrepancies with the recipient on what was dispatched/received vs what was ordered


Supervisory role

  • Supervise Quality Controllers to ensure that the quality of the sorted product is above 99%
  • Supervise warehouse loaders, schedule tasks, and performance



Qualifications


  • University degree in Business Administration/Procurement/Warehousing or similar degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in warehousing, inventory management, stacking and logistics.
  • Computer literate with excellent working knowledge in MS Office/Google Suite/SAGE
  • High professional ethics and integrity.
  • Good interpersonal and organizing skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience working in the INGO/FMCG in a similar role is an added advantage.
